There’s been a buzz about a T-shirt, but not just any T-shirt.

“T-shirt” is the title of Barbadian singer/songwriter Shontelle Layne’s newest single. The song is Layne’s debut single from her new album “Shontelligence”.

The 23-year-old stunning beauty is popular throughout the Caribbean for her 2005 smash hit Soca single “Colours”, which is a collaboration with Barbadian artist, Natahlee Burke.  Layne rose to stardom after writing the 2006 blockbuster, “Roll it Gal”, for Caribbean Soca Queen Alison Hinds.

J-Status remixed “Roll it Gal”, which featured Barbadian sistren and American sensation Rihanna in the music video.

Shontelle was introduced to SRP/Universal Motown Records producer duo Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers, the same team that built Rihanna’s career.  Sturken and Rogers co-wrote and produced Rihanna hits including “Pon de Replay” and “Shut up and Drive.”

Shontelle signed to Steve Rifkind’s SRC Records. The debut smash single “T-shirt”, of which the video was released today, features a soft laid back vocal on a mid-tempo. Check it out.
